Fraunhofer IPMS will present its latest developments in the field of all silicon micro speaker at the MEMS world summit in Grenoble. The speakers are introduce as internet-of-voice devices, as they allow for design of hearables with extended capabilities including for example health monitoring. The uniqueness of such devices is a membrane-free concept which is manufactured using Fraunhofer IPMS in-house developed NED-micro actuator technology. Fraunhofer IPMS processes are easily scaleable and compatible to state-of-the art CMOS electronics, which will allow the all-silicon speaker to be introduced to mass markets.
