SEMICON WEST is the world's number one trade fair for microelectronics. The trade fair, which takes place once a year in San Francisco, showcases the latest products and technologies in microelectronics and covers the entire supply chain. The exhibition is combined with technical presentations and networking events. Fraunhofer IPMS will be present at the Silicon Saxony joint booth to demonstrate the latest developments in process and material development on 300mm wafers. The comprehensive services of the Fraunhofer Screening Fab in the field of semiconductor manufacturing and development will be presented.

SID is the worldwide largest association of scientists, developers, and companies in the electronic and information display domain. Displays include any device that enables image display, such as smartphone displays, projectors, AR/VR smart glasses, televisions, or display devices in automation technology. The conferences, which are held regularly, present the current scientific state of the art concerning displays.

Die Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft fördert intern im Programm PREPARE Projekte zur Vorlaufforschung. Im PREPAREProjekt BIOSYNTH wird an einer modularen Hochdurchsatz-Mikroplattform mit thermischer Synthese und optischem Monitoring für künftige Massendatenspeicher aus synthetischer Biologie geforscht. Die Plattform kann unter anderem auch für Anwendungen in Medizin, Biotechnologie, Biologie oder Landwirtschaft nützlich sein.
